So, now it's putty and paint. We need to find new towel bars, and that sort of stuff, and then have the floor installed.
It's going to look fantastic when it's done!
It has a beautiful window. The previous owners added a stained glass look to it, which looks nice - there is 'lead' and some color to it. It makes it so that people can't see in, which is always a plus in a bathroom. ;). I didn't get a good picture of it, so here's a not-so-good picture. I'll try to get one tomorrow.
We started by taking everything out - the medicine cabinet, the other cabinet, the vanity, the tile and fixtures - even the funky floor came out
And I started removing the wallpaper border. Isn't it funny how renovating a room is like opening a time capsule. There's paint colors, wallpapers, floors, it's funny to see it all. The border came off in two coats, and fairly easily, then there was this weird looking stuff underneath, and at first I wasn't sure what it was, then I realized it was paint. Lavendar wall paint with emerald green sponge painting on it. it really as best covered up!
Our plan for this room was to have two 'medicine'' cabinets with glass shelves in between and panel work on the walls to match the rest of the house. Jim had already built the cabinets so he installed those
And installed the new vanity and sink
And that's all for today!! It's functional again and starting to look the way we envision.
I'll post more tomorrow!!
According to legend, if he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.
I don't know about you, but I'm hoping for an early spring!
