Sold!

Well, the house is sold.  Now what?  That's a good question.   We have a closing date of September 27.  I don't anticipate any problems with either the home inspection or the appraisal, so we need to either find a new house to buy or a place to rent - soon.  We're viewing a few houses tomorrow and if we don't see one we like, we'll look for a rental.

The only thing we know is we're looking to move west of Nashville.

More land, fewer neighbors, room for the puppies to run around.  It's exciting!  (That's what I keep telling myself!)  We've done this before, only now at least we have jobs!!

Today we begin packing, tomorrow house hunting, and Monday, well probably more packing.  Stay tuned for updates..

Richie and Bryttani's Wedding

We celebrated the wedding of one our neighbors today. Richie and Bryttani are such a happy couple. Easy going, always smiling, fun to be around.

The ceremony was in a lodge at one of our State Parks. A pretty, rustic setting. The reception was in one of the buildings in the park, also - a short walk away from the lodge.

Unfortunately for these bridesmaids, their shoes weren't very comfortable, but they were smiling anyway!!

Best wishes for many, many happy years together!!

Nothing Says Summer Like......

Today is National Watermelon Day

Remember sitting around and spitting out the watermelon seeds to see who could spit the farthest? And trying not to swallow any seeds cuz the older kids told you that if you swallowed the seeds a watermelon would grow in your belly? And using your dirty, bug sprayed forearm to wipe off the juice that was dripping down your chin. And then wiping that on your clothes? Ah, those were the days! I don't think I ever won that spitting distance contest but it was fun to participate!

AND National Chocolate Chip Day!

Hmmm, how to choose - watermelon or chocolate chip? But then, why choose?

I mean, you could just make cookies that look like watermelon, with chocolate chips on them

You could make them heart shaped
or on a stick

Or maybe a watermelon milkshake - you could use mini chocolate chips instead of jimmies. Just make sure you have enough for everyone because you know this will bring all the boys to your yard......

Jim doesn't really like watermelon, and I don't really like to cook, so we'll probably skip celebrating this one, but however you choose to celebrate this summer day - enjoy!
